Fuck buddies/friends with benefits? Naaah, these are two completely different things. Anyway back to fuck buddies…
Many people don’t agree with this. They feel that it is cheap and degrading. It’s only those who don’t respect themselves that have such buddies. It’s those who allow others to treat them as objects. Why would you want to be a standby vagina/dick? This person will move on to the next and the next and the next. Is it really worth it? You may not be the only fuck buddy. Your fuck buddy may be married or has a girlfriend/boyfriend. Others may say its just sex, what’s the big deal? Just two people having fun with no strings attached. No feelings, no commitments, just sexy time. We’re both adults. We can be mature about it.
As long as you don’t get attached tho, otherwise it could get very confusing and painful. Once you get attached you’ll want to spend real time with the person and do things together and go on dates and all that lovey dovey shit. It’s easy to avoid all of that – at first. Just set the record straight to avoid any confusions etc. Put your cards on the table and make sure the other party knows exactly what you want.
Not that one can help getting attached but, here are a few guidelines to help prevent attachment.
- Don’t treat a fuck buddy like a boyfriend/girlfriend.
- Don’t be demanding of their personal time. Strictly fucking.
- Don’t do it in the hopes that the other party is going to commit.
- Don’t text or call too much or share too much about your life.
- Don’t discuss each other with friends
Obviously some of these points may be unnecessary if not all of them. There are no actual rules for this situation because we’re all so different. A sleep over for some couples may be off limits in order to prevent feelings, however for another it may be totally fine and still no feelings.
Having a fuck buddy could really work out. You guys can carry on very well the way you are or you could even start a relationship. It all just depends on you really, whatever you do just be careful. Be prepared to deal with the consequences. Shit happens.
